The Ultimate Book Tag

So I came across this tag on Kath’s blog The Last Reader and loved with the questions. I couldn’t wait for anyone to tag me so here I am doing the tag even though no one has asked me to.

Do you get sick while reading in the car?

Not sick but I do have headaches. Not always though.

Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?

I’d have to say Run Baby Run by Nicky Cruz. It’s an autobiography but the way he has written it is so beautiful. He described the thug life in a way that it kept me interested and yet scared me a little.

Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.

This isn’t even a good enough comparison…Harry Potter! I will read them even when I am old and grey.

The plot was so much stronger.

The characters were all very interesting.

There was magic!

Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books…)?

I carry a purse not a book bag. I don’t carry books with me to work but I do carry my Kindle to read on my way to and from work. Apart from that I have my headphones, my wallet, my keys and my Victoria Secrets body spray. Ah it smells amazing!

Do you smell your books?

Yes! Always. 😀

Books with or without little illustrations?

I don’t mind illustrations but I prefer without.

What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?

Twilight! I loved it when I read it but then I read Harry Potter. Do I even need to explain?

Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!

When I was 12 I was up late into the night reading when I heard some noise coming from down the hall. Needless to say I freaked out! I thought there was someone in our house and now I am going to die because they are going to kill us and rob us clean. I tried waking my mom up but she just didn’t wake up! So I tried being brave and took my big fat book as a weapon (like that would have worked) and went out to see who there was. I turn on the lights and it was a stupid cat! A cat! A cat had me almost imaging how I was going to die at the age of 12 because our door lock couldn’t lock thief’s out of our home!

P.S. I don’t think cat’s are stupid. I love cats.

Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?

Yes I do write, it’s the reason I started this blog. I would love to be an author, only if I could get the time to write a book.

When did you get into reading?

I have been a reader since I learned how to read. But I became a “reader” at around the age of 11. That is 10 years of being an avid reader. 😀

In school was your best subject Language Arts/English?

Definitely! I loved my English periods, looked forward to them in fact. And I always scored the highest marks in that subject.

What is your favorite classic book?

Julius Cesar by Shakespeare.

If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated, what would you do?

I would accept it and probably give it to someone who would enjoy it more than I would.

What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?

None that I know of. Sorry guys. Maybe you could suggest a few?

What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?

I don’t really have a schedule for my blog posts. I just post by instinct. It does give me a lot of trouble but I am trying to get into a routine so that both my work life and blog life are balanced.

What is your favorite word?

original (1)

Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?

A nerd, hands down. I sure know a lot of useless facts.

Vampires or Fairies? Why?

Fairies. If you have read my Top Ten Hyped Up Books I Have Never Read post then you know I am done with vampires.

Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?

Shapeshifters. I find them infinitely more interesting than angels.

Spirits or Werewolves? Why?

Spirits.

Zombies or Vampires?

Zombies. You already know why.

Love Triangle or Forbidden Love

Forbidden love is a rare thing in the book world so I would go with that.

Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?

I would say both. It depends on my mood.

  1. I loved your answers! Tags are a great way of getting to know bloggers a little better and that’s why I love them! I wish I had known the word Petrichor before now, I love the smell after it rains but nobody else seems to notice! Now I’ve got a word to describe the wonderful smell!! Thank you so much for tagging us! We can’t wait to give it a try 😀 x

  2. Yes Harry Potter over Twilight for sure!! Glad to have met another fellow Potterhead! 😉 I’d also love to become an author, but sadly, I don’t think I have enough creativity to write a good novel, haha. XD Full-on romance vs action-packed + a bit of romance books depends on my mood as well, though lately I think I’ve been reading a lot of contemporary romances. Probably the summer-y feel to them that gets to me! 🙂 It was great reading your answers, I already did this tag, but thank you so much for tagging me all the same! ❤

  3. Have you read Twilight? I can’t believe I actually used to like that book. A few years from now Harry Potter will be called classics! I hope it does. :p
I feel the same way about writing. I love to write but I am scared that its so messed up nobody will like it.
You are still enjoying summer? I am enjoying Petrichor, it’s monsoon here in India.

      1. I have a couple tags to catch up on in my drafts still. So I’ll definitely get to this one soon. Monsoon?! That sounds kind of scary.

  4. I don’t think I’ve yet found someone who chose Twilight over Harry Potter, haha. (Harry Potter is fabulous, of course. :P) Yay for reader-writers as well! And petrichor is absolutely a beautiful word. ❤
It was great reading your answers!

    1. Haha… What can I say, I am a little strange. Besides you need to make wrong choices to know what the right ones are. (Too much philosophy) :p
Petrichor is an amazing experience. And since it’s monsoon here in India I am enjoying myself.
      Thank you 🙂
